For about 12 weeks in 2016, I consistently used a high performance planner that I designed, to ensure that I consistently hit the daily tasks that I needed to do to keep moving forward. When I stopped using this high performance planner, my momentum floundered, so I am going to use a new version every week in 2017.
I use this high performance planner to make sure I’m fitting in the regular things that need to be done daily, on top of the things on my “list of things to do”. I have a separate ‘to do list’ which has yearly, monthly and weekly tasks.
This high performance planner ensures that I target the top 2 areas that I think will cause the most change for me – consistently producing content, and consistently reaching out (whether pitching for a speaking event, a podcast or a guest blog, or just expanding my network). To keep performing at a high level, I also have to feel great, so the other 2 daily areas are physical and mental health. I need to be doing something everyday physically, to keep me strong and fit, and I need to focus on my mindset just as much.
Every column is a day of the week, and the bottom line is for the entire weekend.
