Reflections on 2019

by admin December 21, 2019
reflections on 2019

This time of the year, just before Christmas, usually brings some melancholy for the year that seems to have flown past, and causes reflections on the 12 months that have just passed. But it also brings excitement for the New Year.

I have done my planning and goal-setting for the New Year, but it has only been since I completed looking forward to 2020, that I have looked back over 2019.

2019 has been a year of big personal growth for me.

It also really started at the end of October 2018, when I attended the REACH Retreat with HerBusiness in Hawaii. This is a business retreat, with a heavily personal growth focus – because if you don’t grow into the person you need to be, your business won’t grow.

I gained a lot of clarity from REACH, but mainly saw a lot of possibility.

Since REACH, I have taken a lot of action in my business, and ticked off a lot of things. I’ve had more media coverage. I’ve won some awards. I’ve written the first draft of my next book. And I’ve been showing up more in a lot of video – Facebook Lives and webinars.

But the most transformation I’ve had during 2019 has been all the personal growth I have made. I have read quite a few pivotal books, and taken some courses that I’ve discovered and I will continue to revisit over the coming years.

I read The Big Leap, which I still keep on my bedside table, to flick through to dog-eared and underlined sections when I need to.

I read You Are the Placebo by Dr Joe Dispenza, which has really opened up the scientific power of the brain-body connection for me.

And I read Spiritually Fierce by Dr Ricci-Jane Adams. It was after reading this book, that I signed up with Ricci’s initiate course through her Institute of Intuitive Intelligence.

But I didn’t do that course before having worked in a small group course with Connie Chapman. This was journalling and self-reflection, and I really learnt the true meaning of self-love. It is UNCONDITIONAL self-love, not about beating yourself up if you’re not perfect. It’s about acceptance and awareness.

This course sent me down the rabbit hole, into reading Ricci’s book and then doing her course.

After doing both those courses, I then discovered Lacy Phillips, and joined her To Be Magnetic Pathway, doing more work on myself through her manifestation course and hypnotic deep imaginings.

Lacy’s followers also all learn about Human Design, so I also bought a few of the courses from her Human Design reader, Jenna Zoe, and then bought a few books on the subject, and have gone down another rabbit-hole with Human Design – I’m LOVING it!

Finally, I also did my Reiki Master course, and a meditation course through a fellow Australian, Melissa Crowhurst.

What a year of personal growth and change! I am excited with what is to follow.
