I have been learning a lot about the Law of Attraction lately, and what I have always done well is goal setting. I recently found an activity book that I worked through 13 years ago, when I was 21 years old. Guess what? All the goals I had written for myself in that activity book, I have achieved, even though I never even looked at them again after I had written them.
Another example of this, is that when I bought my business in 2012, I said I would have 3 offices, and be an accredited wills and estates specialist within 5 years. I had achieved these goals within 4 years of owning my business.
Unfortunately, my goal setting does tend to take years, but it is usually because I set big goals. I am starting to set smaller goals, medium goals, and big goals. I am reviewing them more regularly, because I have heard that millionaires write out their goals daily and billionaires write out their goals twice a day!
Goal setting doesn’t hurt, so why aren’t we all doing it? It just takes a bit of time and a couple of bits of paper. It doesn’t cost you anything, and you will be so much closer to achieving them, just by writing them down.
We will focus on 7 major areas of your life, so your headings will be:
- personal interests
Under each heading, write 3 goals that you have.
Review each of your goals, and put timeframes on them.
Review each of your goals, and make sure that you have a specific amount or target to achieve by the timeframe set.
For example, a typical goal under ‘health’ could be: lose weight. This is not a good goal. The goal should be: ‘lose 5kg in two months’, or something like that. It should have a timeframe and a target to meet.
Another example could be: ‘spend more time with my parents’. This is not a good goal. The goal could be: ‘have dinner with my parents once per month, and call them once per week’.
Please, please, please, set goals, and you will actually be getting what you want!
